yes, you are right. however, this photo is somewhat old, and that issue has been dealt with.

Have you tried the long spacer under the crown with the short one on top with the crown the right way up? If you do it that way, it looks like you would have a bit more of a slack angle than you do now. But hey, if the current setup works, don't worry about it.

love it. my dad has an '01 doublecab trd prerunner, doesn't hold nearly as many bikes as yours..
